SELECTION OF CANDIDATES

The research training group is open to students from the areas of medicine, psychology, biology, informatics, physics and related areas. We consider applications from students who hold a MSc/MA (for a PhD position), MDs with completed state examination (for a MD/PhD position) or medical students who have been admitted to a clinical medical curriculum, equivalent to Medizin II in the German system (for a medical doctoral fellowship).

Admission is granted on a competitive basis. Applicants for the PhD positions are expected to submit a CV and a statement of research interests. After evaluation of the applications by the coordinating board of the SFB, potential candidates are invited for individual interviews. The coordinating board together with the principal investigators involved in the interviews decides about admission.
